How to Make Jello Shots
Bored of the same old drinks and games at your party? Prepare some fun alternative ways to get that alcoholic goodness into your belly!
Steps
1- Prepare the spirit/liquor of your choice with water. If you’re using 20% proof alchohol you’ll need roughly 400ml (2 cups) mixed with 100ml (half cup) of water, whereas if you’re using 40% proof you’ll need 300ml (1 and a half cups) with 200ml (1 cup) of water. Place the mixture in the fridge to chill.
2- Bring 200ml (1 cup) of water to the boil and stir in 170g of jelly/jello until all is dissolved.
3- Mix in your chilled liquor/water mix.
4- Place a tooth pick or lolly pop stick into your shot glasses or cups for easier removal once set, and pour in the mix.
5- Chill until set (about 3 hours)
Tips
Try layered shots of different colours and liquor! Be sure to let each layer set before adding the next.
Extra strength shots can be made using the above technique but by using 350ml (1 ¾ cups) of 40% liquor (not pre-mixed with water), with 85g of citrus jelly/jello dissolved in 100ml of boiling water.
You can also add fruit and sweets to your shots!
Warnings
Drink in moderation and keep the jelly/jello shots away from children!
